|   It has been an incredible year of awards and recognition for
Sweet Dixie Records, Inc. recording artists Romeo & Lockwood
having won Tennessee Country Music Alliance" Country
Duo of the Year." The road to becoming an overnight
sensation has taken many twists and turns. Destiny seemed
to play a part in the teaming of Jeannie Romeo and Alice
Lockwood. There was an instantaneous musical chemistry, but
they also knew in their hearts they each had found a lifelong
friend. Although they played many musical genres, it was
in country music that they felt most at home. Country music has been a source of inspiration for Jeannie
and Alice since childhood. They both grew up in small towns
with strong family ties, which shows in their “down
to earth" genuine quality which audiences respond to.
In 2002, Jeannie Romeo and Alice Lockwood's vision of recording
a CD in the heartland of country music became reality when
they flew to Nashville to record their first CD 'Heartfelt."
In the same year, they decided to form the record label "Sweet
Dixie Records, Inc.". In 2004, they returned to Brush
Hill Studios to record their latest CD "Forever Country".
The musicians who were on the sessions read like a Who's Who
in country music having done sessions with country greats
like Loretta Lynn, Lorrie Morgan, and Reba McEntire. The response
to their CDs has been tremendous and Romeo & Lockwood
fans have said that the songs have touched their lives. This exciting country duo is comprised of two talented performers and song writers who have individually enjoyed extensive musical careers. Jeannie Romeo, a singer-songwriter, began her performing
career at age five, when she was discovered by a local talent
agent and asked to appear on a local television show.  By
age 16, Jeannie had been signed to Pickwick International
Records and was recording on albums with many legendary artists.
Later Jeannie signed with Hansa-Ariola Records and released
a single "Heaven Is The Man I Love," originally
a country tune. The single was released in Germany, Austria,
and Switzerland and went on to become a huge success in Europe.
Jeannie has performed at world class venues, such as Las Vegas,
El Morocco in Manhattan, and The Hamptons. Alice Lockwood, a classically trained keyboardist who happens to be blind since birth, has never allowed this fact to stand in the way of success. She went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts in psychology but her love was, and always will be music. Education has played an integral part for Jeannie, who went on to obtain a Masters of Arts in Education. Jeannie studied music in college and also studied with vocal coach to the stars, Herbert Buchanan.   As a teacher, Jeannie felt that she could make a difference in the lives of others but like Alice, "music is and will always be her first love". Recently, Romeo & Lockwood were honored to share the
stage with country music legends and Opry stars Ernie Ashworth,
Jack Greene, and Tommy Cash at the Jamboree On The Mountain
in Monteagle, Tennessee. They have appeared at the Cross Timbers
Opry in Texas, at the legendary Ernest Tubbs Record Shop,
Texas, The Nashville Palace and at Fan Fair in Nashville.
They appeared on television shows such as Nashville On Stage
and have done numerous radio interviews at stations across
the country. Romeo & Lockwood have gained international
recognition for their music receiving the International Airplay
gold and Platinum records for both their CD's "Heartfelt"
and "Forever Country". The Gold record for "Heartfelt"
and "Forever Country" is given for 50,000 airplays
and overall excellence in the industry. The platinum record
was awarded to the duo for 75,000 airplays and overall industry
excellence for both CD's "Heartfelt" and "Forever
Country". Romeo & Lockwood can keep the audience spellbound with their emotionally powerful ballads, but they can also rock the house! Performing for their fans is what matters most to them and as they have often remarked "We haven't done too badly for a couple of Yankees". Their fans from Texas to New York feel the same way and Romeo and Lockwood understand that "country music isn't about a place, it's about a feeling."
